Weekend progress: Carved a guitar neck, cut out the fretboard and face plate. A bit more carving to do to get it to just the right size. After that I’ll inlay the fret markers, install the frets and cut out the peg head.
Also, I cut out the dovetail joint that connects the neck to the body. This go-round, I used a template and dovetail bit in the router to cut out the joint. Last time, I cut out the joint by hand (and it was a bit less than perfect). This time, there’s still room for improvement, but it’s a much, much better fit.

Next weekend: finish the neck and finish the binding and purfling. With a little luck, construction will be finished by this time next week.
